A Second-Gen Apple Watch Ultra in Works, Coming in H2 2023

A new Power On newsletter from Mark Gurman states that Apple is bringing the 2nd generation Apple Watch Ultra this year, alongside the new Watch Series 9.

These smartwatches will be unveiled with the iPhone 15 lineup and some Macs with updated hardware. New iPad Pro models with OLED screens and an updated iPad Air are also in the works, while a 3rd generation AirPods Pro and a new Apple TV set-top box are reportedly coming next year.

New Apple Smartwatches and iMacs

While the first half of this year is entirely about new software(also the Vision Pro), Apple focuses the second half on new hardware. It includes the new iPhone series, iMacs, Mac Studio and accessories like AirPods.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman states that Apple is working on a second-generation Watch Ultra, possibly alongside the Watch Series 9. These will be launched alongside the new iPhone 15 Series, which has had several leaks.

Further, Apple is working on new iMacs and some with 30 inches screens, too, coming next year. The company is also upgrading the 27″ Intel iMac Pro with Xeon CPU to an Apple Silicon Ultra chip, similar to Mac Studio and Mac Pro revamped earlier.

Gurman also states that upgraded iPads are coming in 2024, with the next-gen iPad Pro models sporting OLED screens. This aside, the 3rd gen AirPods Pro, a new Apple TV set-top box and other innovative home products – are all in early development and coming next year.
