With your phone gradually becoming a digital purse, apps like Google Wallet are making it possible to store and view all your physical cards in virtual format for easier access. The app has recently added support for storing loyalty cards and has now added support for airline boarding passes.

Well, this isn’t only on phones but also on your WearOS-running smartwatches, as noted by 9to5Google. The publication says the Google Wallet app on smartwatches running Wear OS 3.5+ can now store airline boarding.

Users will get a notification as “Boarding pass for your flight to [AIRPORT]” from the on-watch Google Wallet app. Tapping “View pass” will show the QR code for quick scanning at the gate. This is a needed addition to help you pass through the lines quickly and easily.

While some say they had been seeing this feature since the December Pixel Feature Drop, it started widely appearing this week.

Google Wallet on WearOS also supports transit cards from several open-loop transit systems and can even show how much you’ve spent in a day or week, along with ride history. The app has yet to support COVID cards, health insurance cards and other private passes.
