OpenAI has announced the Release of the Chatgpt Android App

ChatGPT

The ChatGPT AI tool gained immense popularity since it’s launch in November of last year. To provide ease of access, OpenAI had earlier launched the ChatGPT iOS app in May this year, catering to iPhone and iPad users. The company had also promised the development of the ChatGPT Android app, which is now set to be released for Android users.

Following the release of the iOS app a few months ago, OpenAI recently tweeted that the ChatGPT Android app will be available in the last week of July. However, an exact release date was not specified in the tweet.

In a Tweet, OpenAI announce that the ChatGPT Android app is going live next week and the company also made the app’s Google Play Store page live. Users can now find and register themselves on the app’s Google Play Store page. Once the app is live, it will automatically download on their devices.

Currently, it remains uncertain whether the ChatGPT Android app will follow the same pattern as the iOS app, initially being exclusive to the United States upon it’s launch. For the iOS app, OpenAI initially limited availability to the United States but later expanded it to other countries. Nonetheless, it is expected that the Android app will eventually be accessible to global audiences.

Currently, the AI chatbot by Open AI is accessible worldwide and Android users can also use ChatGPT through their web browsers on smartphones or tablets. However, the standalone Android app will be better optimized for mobile devices, providing a more seamless user experience. Furthermore, there is a possibility that OpenAI will introduce some custom features for the Android app.

The service is currently free for all users, but OpenAI also offers a subscription-based model called ChatGPT Plus. For $20 per month, users can access exclusive features not available on the free version of the service.
