It is about the time of the year when we see a lot of flagship devices, especially from the Chinese OEMs, with the latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm. OnePlus recently launched it’s OnePlus 12 and now we have the Realme GT 5 Pro. Surprisingly, both these devices have many things in common as both these brands come under the umbrella of BBK Electronics.

Realme GT 5 Pro is the flagship device from Realme for the year 2024 and it comes with top-of-the-line specifications at a much more affordable price than the OnePlus 12. There is also the return of an old feature on this smartphone that many of us don’t remember. Check out the detailed specifications of the device below.

Realme GT 5 Pro Specifications:

A big circular camera module on the rear side houses the triple camera system and the LED flashlight. The camera system comprises a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor with optical image stabilization, which we see on the OnePlus 12. The primary sensor includes an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide sensor with a 112-degree and a 50MP Sony IMX890 periscope lens with f/1.6 aperture and 3x optical zoom. On the front is a 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie shooter for taking selfies and video calls.

Realme GT 5 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5k resolution and 144Hz fast refresh rate. Like the OnePlus 12, this screen also has a peak brightness of 4500 nits under direct sunlight. There is also a 100 nits of brightness through manual adjustment and 1600 nits of global maximum brightness. The display also offers a 2160Hz touch sampling rate, DCI-P3 color gamut and a 94.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. It runs on Realme UI 5.0 on top of Android 14 out of the box.

Under the hood is the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset based on 4nm fabrication with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. The chipset is also paired with Adreno 750 GPU. The device comes with a 12,000 sq mm “3VC vapour chamber iceberg cooling” system with a 3,6132 sq mm heat dissipation area for thermal management during gaming.

The device packs a 5400 mAh battery with 100W fast wired and 50W fast wireless charging support. Other features include 5G, 4G, USB Type C, NFC, Bluetooth v5.3, dual stereo speakers, GPS, and Dolby Audio certification.

Interestingly, the phone has a feature that was apart of some smartphones but was abandoned long ago. We are talking about Palm Gesture support features. Users can unlock the device by moving their Palm closer to the display. There are also some AI gesture control features on the device, through which you can hover your hand over the phone and perform multiple tasks. You can set twelve gestures in the settings to perform specific tasks and then use your hands to perform those tasks.

Pricing and Availability:

Currently, the device is only available in China and there is no confirmation of it’s global launch yet. For Chinese users, the device is priced at 3,399 yuan for the 12GB + 256GB storage variant and 4,299 yuan for the 16GB + 1TB storage variant.
