Twitter Blue Users Can Now Post 60-Minute Videos

Twitter

Twitter is increasing the cap of video upload limit to 60 minutes for the Blue subscribers, who can now post longer videos at 1080p resolution and a maximum of 2GB file size.

Although this flexibility is currently available only on the Twitter web, mobile clients are yet to get this increased limit. Also, Twitter said it’ll prioritize replies of the Blue subscribers on others’ tweets, giving their sayings more reach.

New Twitter Blue Features

At the time of taking over his favorite social media platform, Elon Musk said he’d revamp the Blue subscription to add more features as per community needs.

In this pursuit, Twitter has just increased the video upload length limit to 60 minutes for Blue users, at a 1080p resolution and upto 2GB file size. Currently, this limit is at 1080p, 512MB, and upto 10 minutes only. The new upgrade is available to Twitter users on the web, while Android and iOS users should wait a bit more.

Twitter said it’ll modify the quality of the video for distribution in the future, so we may see the 1080p cap ramping up to 1440p or more. After all, the new Twitter is trying to compete with YouTube to offer fair chances for influencers to grow, so it’ll surely come up with tools for full-fledged video posting.

Well, increased video length means an increased burden of piracy detection, as Twitter has to cope with the infringement acts of it’s users. Last month when Twitter’s copyright systems stopped working briefly, the platform users uploaded whole movies in smaller bits!

And now, an increased video upload length means will only make it easier for them. While Twitter is yet to reveal how it’ll tackle this, the platform also said it’d offer priority visibility to Blue subscribers in tweet replies. As noted, the paid users will “see a slight preference for replies from Blue verified accounts over other replies”.
