A month after delaying, OpenAI is finally ready to launch it’s GPT Store next week, as this was informed to all GPT Builders in an email notification.

The GPT Store will let users sell their AI agents built over OpenAI’s GPT-4 and possibly get paid. This is similar to Google or Apple’s app store, which allow developers to earn from selling apps and requires them to adhere to their store guidelines.

A Digital Store for AI Agents

After excelling in the AI chatbot race, OpenAI is now levelling up the game to sell AI agents based on it’s GPT-4 LLM, made by people known as GPT Builders. The company announced this plan in November’s developer conference but delayed due to CEO ruckus.

Now that it has settled all the issues, it is ready to launch it’s GPT Store next week. In an email notification, OpenAI asked it’s GPT Builders to make sure their AI agents satisfy the Store commitments, like verifying their Builder profile, adhering to usage policies and brand guidelines and publishing their GPTs in public mode. This would let the community find their creations with a simple search in the GPT Store.

This GPT Store was initially available only to ChatGPT Plus and enterprise subscribers but it is now opening for everyone. Interested developers(GPT Builders) can create customized versions of ChatGPT-style chatbots and publish them on the Store.

OpenAI is also drafting a plan to pay GPT Builders based on how popular their AI agents are on the Store. More details on this are yet to be known but since the company is launching it sometime next week, we can expect more details by then.
