A month after delaying, OpenAI has finally launched it’s GPT Store for it’s paid users, letting them access various AI agents to help with their daily work.

OpenAI has crafted a review system to ensure the AI agents(custom GPT models) follow their platform guidelines and report the violating ones. Also, the company is devising a plan to pay GPT Builders based on how well their GPTs perform on the Store.

A Marketplace For AI Tools

Improving it’s ChatGPT with regular updates, OpenAI has been working on an online marketplace for AI tools based on it’s GPT LLM. The GPT Store, as the company calls it, was announced in November last year and scheduled to launch in the same month.

But it was tangled with CEO drama that delayed the Store launch to January. After confirming it’s launch earlier this week, OpenAI finally opened the GPT Store for business today, allowing it’s paid community access various AI tools.

OpenAI claims that more than 3 million bots – called GPTs – have been created so far by it’s Builders. These can be accessed by ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise users alongside new ‘ChatGPT Team‘ subscribers.

This special tier is targeted at smaller teams of around 150 people and offers access to GPT-4, DALL-E 3, OpenAI’s Advanced Data Analysis feature and control over their data.

OpenAI says that ChatGPT Team members can create custom GPTs for their teams’ specific needs or use other GPTs on the store, and promises not to use the conversation data from the ChatGPT Team to train any of it’s models. The new tier costs $25 a month per user when billed annually or $30 per user for monthly billing.

OpenAI is also planning to share revenue generated from it’s GPT Store with it’s Builders soon, based on the user engagement with their chatbots.

As we wait for the specifics, OpenAI also talked about a new review system to ensure the custom GPTs meet it’s brand guidelines and usage policies and a way for the community to report harmful or unsafe GPTs.
